BACKGROUND: The situation of mental health and discipline behaviors of left-behind children's caregivers were not optimistic in rural China. Caregivers' depression might increase the risk of using violent discipline. However, the specific ways in which depressive symptoms impact violent discipline have rarely been explored in rural areas. This study aims to assess the prevalence of violent discipline among left-behind children under 6 years of age in rural China and explore the potential mechanisms of how caregivers' depressive symptoms affect violent discipline. METHODS: We enrolled a total of 396 pairs of left-behind children and their caregivers in our study, which was conducted in 5 counties of Hebei, Henan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, and Sichuan provinces in China. The depressive symptoms of caregivers were measured by using Zung Self-rating Depression Scale (ZSDS) and violent discipline was assessed by the Child Discipline Module of Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS). A self-designed questionnaire was utilized to measure caregiver's parenting attitude. Based on the cross-sectional data, controlling for potential confounders, structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to assess the direct and indirect effects of the mediation models by applying the weighted least squares with mean and variance adjusted (WLSMV) estimate. RESULTS: The prevalence of violent discipline, psychological aggression, and physical punishment was 72.7%, 59.3%, and 60.4% respectively of left-behind children under 6 years of age. According to the results of SEM, parenting attitude acted as a suppressor, suppressing the association between caregivers' depressive symptoms and physical punishment/psychological aggression/violent discipline. The caregivers' depressive symptoms positively influenced all the outcome variables by affecting parenting attitudes (p = 0.002, p = 0.013, p = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS: The presence of depressive symptoms in caregivers increases the use of violent discipline through negative parenting attitudes. The mental health status of primary caregivers of left-behind children in rural China needed emphasis and improvement.

The contribution of excavated waste to waste management is multifaceted, including minimization, non-hazardous disposal, access to useable land resources, improved waste management techniques and public environmental awareness, consistent with recent circular economy initiatives. Pyrolysis can be converted into tar, pyrolysis gas and char with recyclable utilization, enriching the application of pyrolysis technology in the field of excavation waste. In this study, the pyrolysis system includes horizontal tube furnace, gas collection device and Micro GC. The excavated waste was pyrolyzed at a temperature of 500∼900 °C with a heating rate of 10 °C/min. Pyrolysis gases include H2, CO, CO2, CH4, C2H4, C2H6 and C3H8. Pyrolysis was divided into four stages, the main decomposition range is 230∼500 °C, with a weight loss rate of 68.49% and a co-pyrolysis behavior. As the temperature increases, the tar and char decreased and the gas production increased significantly, and the pyrolysis gas reached 47.02% at 900 °C. According to Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, the generation of H2 and CO is positively correlated with temperature. Therefore, the target products can be influenced by changing the parameters, when considering the practical utilization of the excavated waste pyrolysis products. On this basis, the prediction models were built by polynomial fitting method. This model can reduce the experimental exploration cycle, reduce the cost, and accurately predict the pyrolysis gas, which has practical guidance for the application of pyrolysis industry, and provides a theoretical basis for the resource recycling and energy recovery of landfill.

In this study, municipal waste pyrolytic char (PEWC) was prepared by pyrolysis from municipal solid waste extracted in landfills, and Fe-based modified pyrolytic char (Fe-PEWC) was prepared by modification. Focusing on the evaluation of the stabilization capacity of Fe-PEWC for vanadium (V) and chromium (Cr) in soils, the effects of PEWC addition on soil properties, bioavailability and morphological distribution of V and Cr, ryegrass growth, and V and Cr accumulation were thoroughly investigated. The results of pot experiment showed that the application of PEWC and Fe-PEWC significantly (P < 0.05) improved soil properties (such as pH, EC, total nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium, and organic matter). After 42 days of cultivation, Fe-PEWC has a better fixation effect on heavy metals, and the bioavailable V and Cr of 3% Fe-PEWC decreased by 14.96% and 19.48%, respectively. The exchangeable state and reducible state decreased, while the oxidizable state and residual state increased to varying degrees. The Fe-PEWC can effectively reduce the accumulation of V and Cr in ryegrass by 71.25% and 76.43%, respectively, thereby reducing their toxicity to plants. In summary, modified pyrolytic char can effectively solidify heavy metals in soil, improve soil ecology and reduce the toxicity to plants. The use of excavated waste as a raw material for the preparation of soil heavy metal curing agent has the significance of resource recycling, low price, and practical application.

BACKGROUND: The early development of left-behind children requires great concern and improvement. Yet, current interventions for left-behind children are mainly focussed on children older than 3. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a home visiting programme on family responsive care and early development of rural left-behind children and examine whether family responsive care mediates the effects of intervention on child development. METHODS: A quasi-experimental study design was utilized in this study. A stratified clustered sampling was employed to choose villages in programme towns into intervention group. A control village was matched with every intervention village. All of the left-behind children and their caregivers meeting the inclusion criteria in the chosen villages were enrolled in the survey. The outcomes included child development, caregiver's early stimulation, parent-child communication, and learning materials. Baseline assessments were conducted in 2018, and endline assessments were conducted in 2020. RESULTS: In the endline survey, we enrolled 608 children with 258 in the intervention group and 350 in the control group. Left-behind children in the intervention group were less likely to have development delay compared with the control group (odds ratio [OR] = 0.59, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.36, 0.96). Migrant parents of children in the intervention group showed higher proportion of expressing emotional support to their children when communicating (OR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.05, 2.72). Children who received home visits more than once per 2 months had lower level of suspected development delay than children in the control group (OR = 0.34, 95% CI: 0.18, 0.68). Caregiver's early stimulation and migrant parents' emotional support to left-behind children mediated the intervention dose and left-behind children's development. CONCLUSION: Caregiver's early stimulation mediates the intervention and child's development. The findings suggest a promising future for scaling similar early childhood development interventions for left-behind children in rural settings.

In this paper, carbon-matrix-supported copper (Cu) and cobaltous oxide (CoO) nanoparticles were obtained by using coordination polymers (CPs) as a precursor. The aqueous solutions of copper methacrylate (CuMA) and cobalt methacrylate (CoMA) were preferentially prepared, which were then mixed with anhydrous ethanol to fabricate dual metal ion coordination polymers (CuMA/CoMA). After calcination under an argon atmosphere, the Cu-CoO/C nanocomposite was obtained. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that the material has banded morphology, and the dual functional nanoparticles were highly dispersed in the carbon matrix. The prepared material was used in a heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction, with the aim of replacing traditional ferric catalysts to solve pH constraints and the mass production of ferric slime. The obtained nanocomposite showed excellent catalytic performance on the degradation of methylene blue (MB) at near-neutral conditions; the discoloration efficiency is about 98.5% within 50 min in the presence of 0.15 mmol/mL H2O2 and 0.5 mg/mL catalyst. And good reusability was verified via eight cycles. The plausible pathway for MB discoloration and the possible catalytic mechanism was also proposed.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a distinguished hematologic malignancy, with existing studies elucidating its interaction with neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), which may potentially facilitate tumor growth. However, systematic investigations into the role of NETs in MM remain limited. Utilizing the single-cell dataset GSE223060, we discerned active NET cell subgroups, namely neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. A transcriptional trajectory was subsequently constructed to comprehend the progression of MM. Following this, an analysis of cellular communication in MM was conducted with a particular emphasis on neutrophils, revealing an augmentation in interactions albeit with diminished strength, alongside abnormal communication links between neutrophils and NK cells within MM samples. Through the intersection of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between NET active/inactive cells and MM versus healthy samples, a total of 316 genes were identified. This led to the development of a 13-gene risk model for prognostic prediction based on overall survival, utilizing transcriptomics dataset GSE136337. The high-risk group manifested altered immune infiltration and heightened sensitivity to chemotherapy. A constructed nomogram for predicting survival probabilities demonstrated encouraging AUCs for 1, 3, and 5-year survival predictions. Collectively, our findings unveil a novel NET-related prognostic signature for MM, thereby providing a potential avenue for therapeutic exploration.

SCOPE: Alzheimer's disease is an age-dependent neurodegenerative disorder. Mounting studies focus on the improvement of advanced cognitive impairment by dietary nutrients. Krill oil (KO), a rich source of DHA/EPA and astaxanthin, is effective in improving cognitive function. The study mainly investigates the protective effects of long-term KO administration on early cognitive impairment. METHODS AND RESULTS: Results show that 2 months KO administration (50 and 100 mg kg-1 BW) can dramatically promote learning and memory abilities. Mechanism studies demonstrate that KO reduces amyloid ß concentration by regulating the amyloidogenic pathway, inhibits neuro-inflammation via regulating TLR4-NLRP3 signaling pathway, and prevents neuron injure. KO supplementation also enhances gut barrier integrity, reduces serum lipopolysaccharide leakage, and alters the gut microbiota by reducing Helicobacteraceae, Lactobacillaceae proportion, increasing Dubosiella and Akkermansia relative abundance. Particularly, a significant increase of isovaleric acid, propionic acid, and acetic acid levels is observed after KO supplementation. Correlation analysis shows that short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), gut microbiota, and cognitive function are strongly correlated. CONCLUSIONS: The results reveal that KO relieves early mild cognitive impairment possibly for its role in mediating the gut microbiome-SCFAs-brain axis. Thus, KO may provide potential intervention strategies to prevent cognitive impairment in the early stages through the microbiota-gut-brain axis.

We investigated the associations of one-carbon metabolism (OCM)-related metabolites, including choline, betaine, dimethylglycine (DMG), and methionine with fetal growth of twins. This hospital-based cohort study included dichorionic twin gestations. Blood samples were collected at a median of 14.7 weeks of gestation. Blood plasma metabolite levels were measured using high-performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. Generalized estimating equations and mixed effects models were used to explore associations between plasma metabolite levels and fetal growth. In total, 115 women with dichorionic diamniotic pregnancies were included. The maternal plasma DMG level was negatively correlated with fetal birth weight (ß = -43.5, 95% confidence interval [CI] = -74.1 to -12.8, p < .05) and head circumference (ß = -0.23, 95% CI = -0.39 to -0.07, p < .05). Other metabolites were not significantly associated with birth weight, body length, head circumference (HC), or chest circumference. Analysis of the relationships between plasma metabolite levels and fetal biological parameters on ultrasound revealed that the maternal choline level was negatively correlated with fetal abdominal circumference (AC) (ß = -0.12, 95% CI = 0.24 to -0.004, p < .05); the maternal DMG level was negatively correlated with fetal AC (ß = -0.17, 95% CI = 0.28-0.07, p < .05), femur length (ß = 0.02, 95% CI = 0.04-0.003, p < .05), and estimated fetal weight (ß = 26.4, 95% CI = -41.6 to -11.2, p < .05), but not with HC. The maternal methionine level was negatively correlated with HC (ß = -0.08, 95% CI = -0.14 to -0.02, p < .05). The plasma level of the OCM-related metabolite DMG during the second trimester was negatively correlated with fetal intrauterine growth and birth weight. However, further studies with larger samples are needed.

BACKGROUND: Currently, there is no standard treatment for managing relapse in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (AML/MDS) after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. Venetoclax-based therapies have been increasingly used for treating post-transplantation relapse of AML. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy and adverse events of Venetoclax combined with hypomethylating agents (HMAs) for AML/MDS relapse post-transplantation. METHODS: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Excerpta Medica Database, Cochrane Library, and Clinical. gov for eligible studies from the inception to February 2022. The Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies was used to evaluate the quality of the included literatures. The inverse variance method calculated the pooled proportion and 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: This meta-analysis included 10 studies involving a total of 243 patients. The pooled complete response and complete response with incomplete blood count recovery rate of Venetoclax combined with HMAs for post-transplantation relapse in AML/MDS was 32% (95% CI, 26-39%, I2 = 0%), with an overall response rate of 48% (95% CI, 39-56%, I2 = 37%). The 6-month survival rate was 42% (95% CI, 29-55%, I2 = 62%) and the 1-year survival rate was 23% (95% CI, 11-38%, I2 = 78%). CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated a moderate benefit of Venetoclax in combination with HMAs for patients with relapsed AML/MDS post-transplantation (including those who have received prior HMAs therapy), and may become one of treatment options in the future. Large-scale prospective studies are needed to confirm the potential benefit from venetoclax combined with HMAs.

The calf stage is a critical period for the development of heifers. Newborn calves have low gastrointestinal barrier function and immunity before weaning, making them highly susceptible to infection by various intestinal pathogens. Diarrhea in calves poses a significant threat to the health of young ruminants and may cause serious economic losses to livestock farms. Antibiotics are commonly used to treat diarrhea and promote calf growth, leading to bacterial resistance and increasing antibiotic residues in meat. Therefore, finding new technologies to improve the diarrhea of newborn calves is a challenge for livestock production and public health. The operation of the gut microbiota in the early stages after birth is crucial for optimizing immune function and body growth. Microbiota colonization of newborn animals is crucial for healthy development. Early intervention of the calf gastrointestinal microbiota, such as oral probiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation and rumen microbiota transplantation can effectively relieve calf diarrhea. This review focuses on the role and mechanisms of oral probiotics such as Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Faecalibacterium in relieving calf diarrhea. The aim is to develop appropriate antibiotic alternatives to improve calf health in a sustainable and responsible manner, while addressing public health issues related to the use of antibiotics in livestock.

Colonization and development of the gut microbiome are crucial for the growth and health of calves. In this review, we summarized the colonization, beneficial nutrition, immune function of gut microbiota, function of the gut barrier, and the evolution of core microbiota in the gut of calves of different ages. Homeostasis of gut microbiome is beneficial for nutritional and immune system development of calves. Disruption of the gut microbiome leads to digestive diseases in calves, such as diarrhea and intestinal inflammation. Microbiota already exists in the gut of calf fetuses, and the colonization of microbiota continues to change dynamically under the influence of various factors, which include probiotics, diet, age, and genotype. Colonization depends on the interaction between the gut microbiota and the immune system of calves. The abundance and diversity of these commensal microbiota stabilize and play a critical role in the health of calves.

Coal combustion provides plenty of energy, along with enormous coal fly ash (CFA) and CO2 emission. CFA could be recycled for mesoporous silica synthesis, but expensive templates are usually needed. In this work, we proposed a multi-win strategy using CO2 as the precipitator and template. Mesoporous silica powders, with a maximum specific surface area of 355.45 m2/g, a pore volume of 0.73 cm3/g, and an average pore size of around 7.67 nm, were synthesized. The influences of silicon concentration, CO2 flow rate, and ultrasound were investigated. In addition, the Na2CO3 by-product was produced with a purity of over 92 %. By averagely calculating, 1 ton CFA could generate 285 kg mesoporous silica and 1.02 t crude Na2CO3. Around 433 kg of CO2 could be absorbed. Therefore, multi-goals of CFA disposal, CO2 storage, and valuable silica materials production were realized, and the study could pave the way for large-scale industrial applications.

OBJECTIVES: The meta-analysis sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a combination of venetoclax (Ven) and azacitidine (AZA) in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). METHODS: We searched PubMed, Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), Cochrane Library, and Web of Science for eligible studies from inception to June 2022. We used the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 (RoB 2.0) and Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies (MINORS) to evaluate the quality of the included literature. The inverse variance method was used to calculate the pooled proportion and 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: The meta-analysis included nineteen studies with a total of 1615 patients. The pooled overall CR/CRi (complete response (CR)/complete response with incomplete blood count recovery (CRi)) rate for AML and MDS was 57.9% (95% CI 49.5-65.9%, I2 = 83%). Subgroup analyses showed that the rate of pooled CR/CRi was 67.5% (95% CI 61.1-73.3%, I2 = 54%) for the new-diagnosed (ND) AML group, 30% (95% CI 20-44.1%, I2 = 66%) for relapsed/refractory (R/R) AML, and 67.6% (95% CI 52.6-79.8%, I2 = 65%) for MDS, respectively. One randomized controlled trial (RCT) showed that CR/CRi was 64.7% in ND-AML patients. A total of 9 studies reported adverse events, with neutropenia being the most common of grade 3-4 adverse events, with a rate of 53.7% (95% CI 61.1-73.3%, I2 = 54%). CONCLUSION: The present meta-analysis demonstrated that the Ven + AZA regimen is efficacious for the treatment of AML and MDS, with it being more effective for ND-AML than R/R AML. The most common adverse effects of this regimen are grade 3-4 neutropenia and neutropenia with fever.

A well-known milk-derived bioactive tripeptide, VPP (Val-Pro-Pro) has good anti-inflammatory, anti-hypertension, and anti-hydrolysis properties. However, whether VPP can alleviate calf intestinal inflammation is unclear. In this experiment, the effects of VPP on growth, diarrhea incidence, serum biochemical indices, short-chain fatty acids, and fecal microorganisms were examined in pre-weaning Holstein calves. Eighteen calves with similar birth date, body weight, and genetic background were randomly assigned equally to two groups (n = 9). The control group was given 50 mL of phosphate buffer saline before morning feeding, whereas the VPP group received 50 mL of VPP solution (100 mg/kg body weight/d). The study lasted for 17 days, with the first 3 days used for adaptation. Initial and final body weights were determined, and daily dry matter intake and fecal score were recorded throughout the study. Serum hormone levels and antioxidant and immune indices were measured on day 14. Fecal microorganisms were collected on days 0, 7, and 14, and 16S rDNA sequencing was performed. Oral administration of VPP did not significantly affect calf average daily feed intake and body weight, but the growth rate in body weight was significantly higher in the VPP group than in the control group on day 7 (P < 0.05). Compared with the control, VPP significantly decreased serum TNF-α and IL-6 contents (P < 0.05), and concentrations of nitric oxide and IL-1ß also decreased but not significantly (0.05 < P < 0.1). After seven days of VPP, relative abundances of g_Lachnoclostridium, uncultured_bacterium_, and g_Streptococcus in fecal samples increased significantly (P < 0.05). Compared with the control, VPP significantly increased concentrations of the fecal short-chain fatty acids n-butyric acid and isovaleric acid (P < 0.05). In conclusion, VPP can relieve intestinal inflammation and alleviate the degree of diarrhea in pre-weaning calves.

In recent years, global warming has become an important topic of public concern. As one of the most promising carbon capture technologies, solid amine adsorbents have received a lot of attention because of their high adsorption capacity, excellent selectivity, and low energy cost, which is committed to sustainable development. The preparation methods and support materials can influence the thermal stability and adsorption capacity of solid amine adsorbents. As a supporting material, it needs to meet the requirements of high pore volume and abundant hydroxyl groups. Industrial and biomass waste are expected to be a novel and cheap raw material source, contributing both carbon dioxide capture and waste recycling. The applied range of solid amine adsorbents has been widened from flue gas to biogas and ambient air, which require different research focuses, including strengthening the selectivity of CO2 to CH4 or separating CO2 under the condition of the dilute concentration. Several kinetic or isotherm models have been adopted to describe the adsorption process of solid amine adsorbents, which select the pseudo-first order model, pseudo-second order model, and Langmuir isotherm model most commonly. Besides searching for novel materials from solid waste and widening the applicable gases, developing the dynamic adsorption and three-dimensional models can also be a promising direction to accelerate the development of this technology. The review has combed through the recent development and covered the shortages of previous review papers, expected to promote the industrial application of solid amine adsorbents.

Microtubules are the fundamental part of the cell cytoskeleton intimately involving in cell proliferation and are superb targets in clinical cancer therapy today. Microtubule stabilizers have become one of the effectively main agents in the last decades for the treatment of diverse cancers. Taccalonolides, the highly oxygenated pentacyclic steroids isolated from the genus of Tacca, are considered a class of novel microtubule-stabilizing agents. Taccalonolides not only possess a similar microtubule-stabilizing activity as the famous drug paclitaxel but also reverse the multi-drug resistance of paclitaxel and epothilone in cellular and animal models. Taccalonolides have captured numerous attention in the field of medicinal chemistry due to their variety of structures, unique mechanism of action, and low toxicity. This review focuses on the structural diversity, semi-synthesis, modification, and pharmacological activities of taccalonolides, providing bright thoughts for the discovery of microtubule-stabilizing drugs.

Microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) has been considered as a potential treatment method for the solidification and stabilization of municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (MSWI-FA).The main obstacle for MICP treatment of MSWI-FA is the harsh environment which causes the bacteria fail to maintain their urease activity effectively, thus decreases the solidification effect and material properties. Currently, there is no research on blending metakaolin (MK) as a protective carrier for the bacteria into the MSWI-FA. The effect of the MICP process on the curing properties of MSWI FA-based cementing materials in the MK and MSWI-FA reaction system is largely unknown. In this study, different mixing ratios of MK were used to adjust the Ca/Si/Al ratio in the mixture, and the properties of the cementing material (MSWI-FA mixed with MK and water) and the MICP-treated material (MSWI-FA mixed with MK and bacterial solution) were investigated. This study contributes to find suitable additives to promote effect of MICP on the solidification of MSWI-FA and the improvement of material properties. The results showed when the mixing ratio of MSWI FA was 90 wt %, the MICP treatment was able to increase the compressive strength of the samples up to 0.99 Mp, and the compressive strength of samples reached 1.46 MPa, when the mixing ratio of MSWI FA was 80 wt %. Though the metakaolin did not show inhibitory effect on the urease activity, the compressive strength of the MICP-treated samples did not further show a significant increase when the mixture of MK was increased from 20 wt% to 30 wt%. Further investigation suggested that MICP activities of bacteria utilizing calcium sources could have an impact on the formation/deformation of calcium-containing hydration products in the reaction system, thus affecting the mechanical and chemical properties of MSWI based materials. MICP treatment is effective in the immobilization of certain heavy metals of MSWI FA, especially for Pb, Cd and Zn. This research shows the potential of using MICP to treat the MSWI fly ash, meanwhile, it is necessary to find suitable reaction system with the proper additives in order to further improve the properties of the MSWI FA based material in terms of mechanical performance.

Biodrying is a promising method that produces bio-stabilized output with minimum pretreatment requirements. In this study, a hot-air supply system was added to the traditional biodrying process for kitchen waste, which showed significant reduction in moisture content in 5 days (maximum reduction of 37.45%). A series of experiments was conducted to optimize the hot-air biodrying system utilizing different aeration rates, temperatures, and mixing ratios of feedstock to bulking agents. The results showed that a 65 °C aeration temperature led to the highest water removal rate and low volatile solids consumption rate, with the biodrying index reaching 4.9 g water per gram of volatile solids. On the other hand, evaluation of the overall biodrying efficiency based on the weight loss and bio-stabilization showed that intermittent aeration temperature at 55 °C performed best, offering suitable conditions for water evaporation and bio-degradation. In combination with a flow rate of 0.8 L/kg*min and 1:1 mixing ratio, these conditions resulted in the maximum volatile solids consumption of 26.26% in 5 days. The volatile solids consumption and 34.47% water removal rate of the trial had contributed to a total of 64.13% weight loss. The weight loss was even higher than that of a conventional biodrying system which was conducted for more than 14 days.

The treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (MSWI FA) faces many challenges, such as landfill space occupation, high costs and potential environmental threats. In this study, coal fly ash (CFA), metakaolin (MK) and silica fume (SF) were used as aluminosilicate supplementary cementitious materials (ASCM), and mixed with MSWI FA as precursors for the synthesis of alkali-activated and geopolymers hybrid binder (AGHB). The results show that this alkali-activated technology efficiently immobilized the heavy metals in MSWI FA, and the ASCM contributes to the compressive strength enhancement of the AGHB. The highest compressive strength of the synthesized products that mixed MSWI FA with CFA and MK as precursors, reached 5.34 and 9.06 MPa, respectively. The compressive strength of the ASCM synthesized by mixing MSWI FA and SF in the mass ratio of 70:30 with the alkali activator modulus of 1.6 M could reach 11.2 MPa after 28 d of curing, which met the quality standard of MU10 (NY/T 671-2003) for load-bearing brick.The leaching concentrations of Hg and Pb were reduced from 0.15 to 3.96 mg/L to less than 0.003 and 0.107 mg/L, which were below the limit established by the Chinese standard (GB 8978-1996). The research provides the technical parameters of the optimization conditions on the synthesis of MSWI FA-based AGHB, for the resource utilization of MSWI FA and reduction of the environmental risk.

Emergence of pathogens harboring multiple resistance genes incurs great concerns. Cooccurrence of mobile resistance genes conferring resistance to tigecycline, colistin, and carbapenems in Escherichia coli has not been investigated. This study aimed to characterize three E. coli isolates coharboring tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5. Isolates coharboring tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 were identified and characterized by PCR, Sanger sequencing, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, conjugation assays, Illumina sequencing, nanopore sequencing, and bioinformatic analysis. Three E. coli isolates carrying tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 were identified from pigeons in China. They were resistant to almost all antimicrobials except enrofloxacin. tet(X4) and blaNDM-5 could be conjugated into E. coli C600, but mcr-1 was nontransferable in three isolates. Three isolates belonged to sequence type 6775 (ST6775), and clonal dissemination of isolates carrying tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 existed in the pigeon farm. Genetic analysis revealed that mcr-1 mediated by the Tn6330 was located on the chromosome, tet(X4) was located on the IncFII plasmid, and blaNDM-5 was located on the IncX3 plasmid. We first characterized the E. coli isolates carrying tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 simultaneously. Relevant measures should be taken to decrease the prevalence of pathogens carrying tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5. IMPORTANCE Tigecycline and colistin are regarded as vital antimicrobials to treat multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections, such as that caused by carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE). Cooccurrence of mobile resistance genes conferring resistance to last-resort antimicrobials in E. coli remains unknown. Here, we characterized E. coli strains coharboring tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 phenotypically and genetically. Resistance genes tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 were located on transposons or plasmids that were mobile genetic elements related to the capture, accumulation, and dissemination of such important resistance genes. The emergence of E. coli isolates carrying tet(X4), mcr-1, and blaNDM-5 highlights the importance of monitoring the coexistence of novel mobile resistance genes in different settings with a One Health approach. Risk of transmission of such MDR pathogens from animals to humans should be evaluated comprehensively.
